Is there a natural way to remove freckles and/or Moles??

See, I'm not a redhead, I have blonde hair and really pale skin with lots of completely RANDOM freckles/moles, they are ugly, they come in all shapes, sizes, and colors... it's not the pretty freckles like pippylongstocking - I like hers they look like they belong but mine look really awkward. Anyone feel my pain or have any suggestions?

Is there a natural way to remove freckles and/or Moles??
you can try a peel like etre facial mineal peel. (all you do is rub it in and rub until it starts to blob like little buggers.lol. yeah nasty but i liked the way it left my face even after the 1st use. by the way you only use it once a week. im on week 2..i just bought it at the mall and they charged me $40 but i didnt know you could find it online for under $15!! i have the same problem with the frekles so im trying this. and i did get moles removed by a dermatologists. it isn't much and i can't say it left a scar.
Reply:freckles try fade cream. moles need cut out by the doctor. they need tested when removed.
Reply:Well from exsperiance ive had moles removed..but by a derm. Only costed $75.00 but they cut it out at the root so it wont come back. Doesnt hurt at all. HOWEVER it does leave a larger scar. To me i prefered the scar that was skin colored over the mole.
Reply:For freckles, I heard cut a lemon and rub on the freckles. It worked a little bit on my shoulders, but you can see them close up.

Moles, you'll have to see a doctor to see if they're non-cancerous and if they can be removed. Other than that, you're stuck with those.

How common is it to get melenoma in a mole after being on skin for 15 yrs?

It happens all the time. I have had moles since I was a child and have never been a sun worshiper or a tanner. I had two severe sunburns in my life...one at age 7 and one at 21. I had a malignant melanoma in at the age of 32 and many, many basal cells including a rare multi-focal basal cell carcinoma.

A melanoma can occur at anytime so always keep a close watch on any moles (freckles or red areas too) you have. The main signs of a problem are:

the mole is not symetrical (one side should match the other)

changes in color

changes in size

The easy thing to remember is the ABC's:

asymmetry

border

color

diamter

elevation

When in doubt, have the area checked. A melanoma caught early is very easy to treat and treat successfully. Never "sit" on a spot that you aren't sure of or "wait it out". See a doctor.

How can you humanely get rid of a mole (garden variety not skin)?

i've found that tabasco sauce drives them nuts. pour it in their hole and cover. they do come back, but not for awhile.

How can you humanely get rid of a mole (garden variety not skin)?
Don't know if you'll come back to this, but they will just dig around the tabasco, and pepper burns are not humane. Report It

Reply:Keep cats, or get a terrier.
Reply:block the tunnels it might take a bit of time or days but they will give up if you persevere and you did ask humanely otherwise I could suggest a real remedy
Reply:When my yipping terrier starts digging, they exit the yard pretty darn quickly.
Reply:I have been told that you need to get rid of the grubs--their food supply. I know there are products for this but don't know if they work. I am in the process of trying a grub eliminator product myself. (These can be found at any garden supply store/department) Good luck
Reply:moles are quiet animals that they really hate continue sounds. this is the best solution (the humanity kind)

Dig MANY jam bottles in places that you think the mole is living there.

___ ......_____ like this. place the open part out of soil.

//////|.....|////////

//////|___|///////

the dots shows an empty place.

at night wind blows into it and make a sound like wistle.

cause of the sound, Moles leave there. I told u why. let the bottles stay in ur garden to dont have moles again!!!
Reply:I highly recommend one of the products containing caster bean oil. I have lots of moles and i don't mind them for the most part because they help control the japanese beetles, their favorite food is the grubs. The diluted oil is used to repel them from my flower gardens and pathways and as a barrier around the vegetables and herbs. It also helps to use some of the organic controls for Japanese beetle grubs since they attract the moles in the first place (milky spore is good). Ask at a garden center, hardware store, or local feed and seed.

I answered your q in a rush this morning and didn't stop to think about the years I've spent in the garden center and feed and seed business sorting out for customers the difference between moles and voles. Is it the shallow tunnels that are bothering you or the sudden root damage that plagues you? They are very different critters, but people confuse them all the time. They both tunnel underground and voles have been known to use mole tunnels to get where they want to go, adding to the identity problem. The castor bean oil works with both, but the grub control will not help with voles.
Reply:Sorry, I don't think it is possible. I have failed miserably for a long time. Wait patiently and they will move off on their own.
Reply:Try moth balls down the holes

Skin health?

how can you get smooth skin without any showing of pimples and moles

im a guy so please dont offer anything thats make-up

Skin health?
Try using an oatmeal mask every night before you

go to bed, I know pretty girly but it actually works

really well. Before I used to read about people who

use it and I didn't think it would do much, but I tried

it 2 nights ago and it helps smoothen out the skin

and I had a pimple on my face and it disappeared.

It helps open your pores and then after when its

washed off you put on lotion, any kind or any with

aloe is best, then it can snap the pores shut. Also

if you have sensitive skin try not using any type of

soap on your face just wash 3 times a day with

warm water. Keep hydrated, drink lots of water

and eat healthy. I eat 2-3 apples and drink 10

glasses of water a day. And my skin is super clear.
Reply:!you must have oily skin. the best to do would be to shower with non moisturising soap to remove the excess oils. do not use anything on skin, as it will block your pores and cause more pimples!
Reply:you probably shouldnt have put this under makeup then hun!lol...but try useing a scrub 2 or 3 times a week like st ivees apricot scrub, they also have one with salycic acid for blemish prone skin. cleanse and moisturize daily.

moles will always show unles you wear makeup or get themn removed but then there's a scar
Reply:zit zappers that heat the skin

thermaclear
Reply:Pat, the pimples we can get rid of, the moles are deeper than cosmetic remedies.

Proper skin care includes cleanser, toner, masque and moisturizer. Look at the men's skin care at aularale.com/7002 - choose the one for your skin type (normal/dry or oily) and use it twice daily. Also include the vitamin c serum - this dries up pimples fast! Drink more water than anything else, eat more fresh fruits/veggies and take a good vitamin/mineral supplement.

Is it true that if you pick a freckle or mole out of your skin, its possible to get some type of skin cancer??

only answer if you actuallly know for a fact. . not if you've only heard from someone like me.

thanks

Is it true that if you pick a freckle or mole out of your skin, its possible to get some type of skin cancer??
Its dangerous because it can cause not only bleeding but yes, it can "trigger" stagnant cancers. Always watch for a change in the color and/or shape of a mole as well. They can be very easily removed using local anesthesia in the MD office. If it looks suspicious, go see your physician.
Reply:It may do. There is no absolutes.

The rule is that you must never pick or mess with a freckle or mole.
Reply:if its canserous i imagine
Reply:No, it won't cause cancer. In fact, medical removal of large moles is a recommended prevention to keep them from becoming cancerous. Skin cancer is caused by cellular changes in the skin, usually resulting from an oncovirus or UV exposure.

But, if you try to dig out a freckle or mole on your own, I can guarantee you a big ugly scar.
Reply:no it won't likely cause skin cancer, but it can cause an excessive loss of blood.
Reply:removing a freckle ora mole from your skin cannot give a person skin cancer.an infection is however possible and fingering the area can lead to a nasty looking pimple like growth.
Reply:I honestly don't believe so. I know it's not a good idea to take on of those things off, dealing with your skin and the actual infection it can cause, but I don't think you can get cancer from it. Most cancer is due to negative radiation and such. The reason you HAVE a mole is from a cancerous gene at a lower level. A freckle is merely a large clogging of blood and such, but I don't know why you would want to cut one off. OO Sounds painful.
Reply:They say that cancerous cells can enter the blood stream from this sort of thing,I know that you should not mess about with these things.
Reply:It wont lead to cancer, i have just been to the doctor about a mole i have on my face which bleeds from time to time and he said there is nothing to worry about.
Reply:It's not a good idea.

I'm not sure about causing other cancers, but there is a definite risk of bleeding that won't stop.

Having said that - I've done it twice with moles, and not had any problems....

Once when I was a little girl, can't remember how old, but I picked a mole off my arm because I didn't like it - but it came back bigger!!!

And more recently..... actually thought I had a spot that needing bursting (ugh, sorry for that image... lol) and kept picking it.... only realised this week, that it is where I used to have a mole!!

Again, nothing, so far, to worry about - but you have me worried now.........!!
Reply:true
Reply:True, picking mole or freckle could lead to skin cancer. This was told to me by my skin doctor.
Reply:I guess your other medical adviser is fully trained having one GCSE in woodwork? No this does not cause cancer.
Reply:well i have had likea wort on my leg for years i are always picking it off i told my doc i asked him the same thing as you are asking he said no it cant turn into cancer unless it is cancer to begin with
Reply:a mole is already cancer of the skin, but its not malignant (i.e benign - does not spread to other parts) .. now, this mole if it was exposed to long exposures of UV light from sun, or uncontrolled physical stress (i.e. picking it in your case), there is a chane it might become malignant ..

there is a good reason why you dont play with your moles, but then again it depends on the size of the mole and its shape .. generally any mole which is larger than 6mm in diameter is considered 'hazardous' and i wouldnt recomment you picking it, especially if it is unspherical and multicoloured !!!

Can you die from skin cancer?

Can you die from skin cancer caused from a mole?

How does it take over?

Can you die from skin cancer?
Yes you can die from skin cancer, especially the one that originates from the mole. Its the most dangerous one out there. That is because it metastasises early. Metastasis is a process by which parts of the cancer breaks off and travels through the blood vessels or lymphatics to different parts of the body and starts grawing there.

If a cancer hasnt metastasised by the time it it is diagnosed there is a very good chance of complete cure if the cancer can be excised as a whole. If, however there has been metastasis, it becomes very difficult to search and destroy all cancer cells and these cells will eventually grow and destroy normal cells of the body and take away all the nutrition for its own growth, eventually causing death either by constricting a vital structure or destroying it.

Of all the skin cancers melanomas( which arise from the mole) are most unpredictable and can pop up years later at wierd sitess just when you thought you had everything under control.

One must be very careful of the following skin changes

a mole that

suddenly grows in size

is irregular

is multicolored(ie parts of it might be brown to red to black and not uniformly brown or uniformly black etc)

a lesion on the face that doesnt heal.

If you ever see anything like this, consult your doctor immediately.
Reply:Yes. Currently skin cancer is the number one killer of all cancers. Once it has taken hold, there's not much hope.

Go to www.skincancer.org

Reply:Yes - if you think you have it, see your doctor immediately. A father of one of my son's baseball teammates was diagnosed a few years ago and he died from it within a few months of his diagnosis. It all depends on the type and severity of it.
Reply:"Currently skin cancer is the number one killer of all cancers"

i dont think that's true, its probably the most common but its not the biggest killer. the survival rate is well over 90% if you catch it early, but yes you can die from it if you let it go or if youre unlucky and get an aggressive form of melanoma.
Reply:YES
Reply:yes
Reply:Yes, but there are different types and not all of them are so malignant, to cause a sure death.
Reply:Absolutely! Skin cancer is very serious. Any cancer is serious. You have to keep your moles in check. As long as they don't keep getting bigger and/or changing color, or lose their symmetry, you should be okay. Ask your doctor.
Reply:You can die from skin cancer that has metastasized, that is not bound to the original tissue that it started growing in. It can enter the blood stream or lymph tissue and spread to other tissue. The type of cancer that has most risk for causing death is malignant melanoma. It is characterized by irregular border of growth, different colors of growth, and sometimes raised appearance. A mole does not cause cancer but a cancer can grow under or in a mole and that is why they say to watch for a mole changing color, size, shape.
Reply:ya surely skin cacer kills but it depends on the kind of it nd itz stage.the skin peels off in skin cancer
Reply:Unfortunately, if left untreated, a mole can turn cancerous and kill you. A family member of mine died from a mole. All the moles on the body turned into lumps. She was dead in 6mos. See your Dr.
Reply:uh yes!
Reply:YES!!! Any cancer will spread to other places if left untreated.

Serious skin cancer question?!?

I have been reading about skin cancer and how if you have moles that change shape that it could possibly be skin cancer but what if you develop a spot out of nowhere,I had been living over seas for the past two years in Guam where the Uv rays are much higher, I noticed not too long after returning to the states a dark brown spot on my right arm that is darker brown in the middle and does have irregular edges,I am worried after seeing an article in a magazine that showed different stages of skin cancer and mine closely resembled the one that was listed under possibly precancerous,Any advice, info. Thanks

Serious skin cancer question?!?
well the obvious answer would be to go to a doctor, but i had a spot appear on my skin it changed color and shape until it looked like a paw print, it turns out that it was from another condition and not cancerous at all, but still serious. another tip to look for would be if the mole or spot is raised from the skin the higher it is possibly the more serious it is. please get it checked out. i hope things work out well!
Reply:quick answer - get it checked - better safe than sorry
Reply:Do what the article most likely suggested and see a doctor.

You want a dermatologist - medical doctor and board certified.
Reply:As long as you took time to write this question, you could have used the time to call a doctor and have it checked out. Why ask ? Go and do something about your suspicions. Ask a qualified doctor.
Reply:Go get it cut off. No big deal. I have it done too. It there is anything bad in the mole it will be gone then. Skin cancer can be deadly but only if you do nothing to stop it.

Make an appointment with your doctor.
Reply:This video on skin self exam (for early detection of skin cancer) should help...

In January, I had a strange looking mole growing on the back of my right thigh. I had it checked out and the pathology report came back as melanoma, stage III. I'm only 35 years old, don't spend too much time in the sun, and considered myself to be healthy. Melanoma is very aggressive -- they found that it had spread to my lymph system. I've had three surgeries and will soon be undergoing some IV drug treatment.

Skin cancer can be nasty -- even nastier if you don't catch it early. I tell everyone I know that if they have any suspicious looking moles/growths on their bodies, don't hesitate to make an appointment with a dermatologist.

If your in doubt about it go to your GP who can refer you to a specialist, I can say though if it has hair/s growing in them they don't go cancerous,I had one that was itchy and the dermatologist told me that snippet of info.
Reply:contact your dr asap, they will probably remove it, not a big deal a stitch or two and you are done, the only real way to tell is to have it biopsied. Don't wait, see your dr now, as time can make a big difference.

Is there an easy way to get rid of moles without going to a doctor and getting them lasered off? off?

Im talking like the black moles that are just in the skin, they arent bumpy or anything they are just black. I have a few of them and I want to get rid of them but im not sure what is the best way to get them removed.

Is there an easy way to get rid of moles without going to a doctor and getting them lasered off? off?
Unfortunately, no. Usually a dermatologist will use liquid nitrogen to "cryo" the mole away.

You might try something like hydraquinone or kojic acid and just daub the product only where the moles are. These are skin lighteners. Hydraquinone works quicker but there is controversy over it's safety. Again, the strongest forms of these skin lighteners must be gotten by prescription so a visit to the dermatologist would still be necessary. You can try over the counter lighteners with these ingredients but they'll only be half as strong. Hope this helps...
Reply:How long have they been black? Moles that have turned black are possibly cancerous. You should have them checked, if they are cancerous, the cancer might have spread.

You could try fresh, raw garlic. Some people self treat skin cancers this way. You cut a piece just large enough to cover the mole, and tape it over the mole. You replace it three times a day. Try it for a week and see what happens.

My Mom had a raised, brown mole on her face. I used this (garlic) on it. In three days it was gone, and there was normal pink skin under it. But a little of the skin around it was slightly burned from the garlic. Using small pieces will keep that from happening.

I am not a doctor. Proceed at your own peril.

That's all I got .
Reply:You may want to try a lightening, fading or bleaching skin cream to lighten them since they are not raised. I'd suggest purchasing one from a beauty supply store. It make take about six weeks to see the complete affect- but I'd just follow the directions on the box.
Reply:it is best never to mess with moles unless something is wrong. They are your body controlling unwanted cellular growth within your body - so just don't mess with them.

I would go to a doctor if you want them removed. Any other way does not have medical supervision and that is not something you want when dealing with the removal of anything in your body.
Reply:Yes there is i am in Esthetician school and a lady came in and removed skin tags moles, ect try and call some spa's it kinda hurts like a tattoo tho ...
Reply:The first response is exactly what I was going to suggest. it works for most folks. But be careful with garlic on the surrounding skin. It is strong and will irritate it.

I use a small piece of fresh garlic and a round bandaid every night and remove during the day. Try it on one of them.

I am 52 yrs.-this mole (more like a skin tag) is itching and looking?

gross near my collar line. Should I get this removed?

I am 52 yrs.-this mole (more like a skin tag) is itching and looking?
If it's itching, you might want to get it looked at and make sure it's not cancer.
Reply:if it bothers you yes I would
Reply:think you should get it looked at. some moles can become cancerous
Reply:If you dont have money for the doctor I know I have see pamlets that show pictures of what can be cancer and what is safe. I think they were at the front office of my doctor...if not you should get checked out. One doctor bill is better the letting is spread and eventually causing more damage of death.
Reply:if it bothering you, but if it like a skin tag and you can pull it off go to it. the doctor snip with the scissors, many skin tags off my neck
Reply:There are all kinds of moles some can be cancerous go see a dermatoligist not to scare you but the changing of a mole in size color shape are all signs you should have it looked at and they would be able to remove it

Have you ever seen anything on your skin?

that looks like a red freckle or mole? For as long as I can remember, I have had a few tiny bright red spots that look like freckles/moles on some parts of my skin, like a few on my legs and a few on my chest. They don't itch or change size or anything like that..and they are tiny, like the head of a pin...what could they be?

Have you ever seen anything on your skin?
I know exactly what you mean. I have a couple under my left eye and a couple on my torso. I noticed that my mom has a few too. They're not mole-like, much more like freckles. They don't cause any problems so I wouldn't be too concerned.
Reply:they may be a form of a tumor. It could just be a growth also. I would recommend getting it checked up on though just to be safe. Do you often tan?
Reply:it might be itches
Reply:I've seen them, and have some, but dont know the english name for it... In spanish we call them "cabeza de vena" which means literally 'veins heads'... May have a nicer name in english...

After goind to a dermatologist, he said no danger, same cares as if it was a mole... They remove them with laser, in case they are located in 'friction' places like the palm of the hand or foot.
Reply:I have had one on my hand forver and I have always wondered what it was, it looks like someone took a red pen and just put a dot there. Hope we get an answer.

Link between immunity and moles/freckles?

Ever since I've had a weak immune system (started off with glandular fever 5 yrs ago, then problems with chronic fatigue/post viral syndrome since, plus I have Candidiasis - all of which Im trying to treat) my skin has been prone to freckles and moles. I don't go out in the sun often (and I usually wear sunscreen) but Ive developed heaps of moles over the last 5 years. Before I had health problems I never had any moles, and spent more time in the sun than I do now.

A few people have told me I get them so easily due to having a weakened immune system. Can anyone confirm/give any further information about this suggestion?

Link between immunity and moles/freckles?
It could theoretically be that your weakened immune system is not able to control cancerous growths like it used to. Under normal circumstances, the immune system patrols the body, looking for cells that are growing out of control, and keeping them in check (usually by killing them completely but sometimes just by controling their growth). If you are immunosupressed, your immune system can't patrol for these uncontrolled growths as well as it used to. Moles are a type of uncontrolled cell growth that is usually kept in check by the immune system. It could be that your immune system is no longer able to stop the growth of these moles and that is why they are suddenly growing. The best thing you could do is talk to your doctor about them and, even more importantly, keep an eye on them. Note their number, size, shape, and color, and if anything changes, definitely contact a doctor. Your immune system plays a very important role in keeping cancer in check, so it's best to keep an eye on it yourself if your immune system can't.

Please note I AM NOT saying you have cancer! Don't freak out or anything. Just keep an eye on things and know what to expect.

Skin Cancer?????

I have a lot of white bumps kind of in between my chest and neck. Both parents have had to have skin cancer removed. The white bumps kind of look like big whiteheads, but they cant be scratched off or popped so I am a little worried. Is skin cancer always a discolored mole, or can it be white bumps like this?

Skin Cancer?????
It may just be whiteheads but with your family history i would be showing your doctor to be sure. Skin cancer is not always a discolored mole. Better to be safe than sorry!

Unless you are at least over age 25 and a heavy sun worshiper or a very heavy tanner it is highly unlikely that you have non melanoma skin cancer - especially from what you have described for symptoms. Young girls do sometimes get melanoma but they look nothing like what you describe.

Skin cancer, or just a mole?

I recently got a rather large 'mole' on the left side of my right knee. I say recent because it's only been there about 6 months I think, not too sure about it though. I read in a magazine that you should be worried if it isn't an oval shape, its a non-brown color, and/or it raises above the surface like a bump. Now this mole is kind of a pointy oval shape, sort of like a round diamondish shape, I'm pretty sure its a brown color, and it's not raised or bumpy, but it still looks suspicious and looks rough, but doesn't feel rough, what do guys think? (I'm going to my doctor in a couple days so don't bother reccomending my physician) thanks!

Skin cancer, or just a mole?
Moles that suddenly appear or grow larger are considered to be "suspicious". The general guidelines for melanoma are assymmetrical, irregular (scalloped, rough) border, multiple colors, diameter greater than that of a pencil eraser, and extreme or irregular elevation.

It's incredibly hard to diagnose melanoma (or another form of skin cancer) unless you're a dermatologist or an oncologist specializing in skin cancer. No one can give you a good diagnosis unless they've had an intense education in the field. Best of luck.
Reply:Wise choice
Reply:If you're going to the doctor, why did you ask us?
Reply:Without seeing the "mole", it's hard to tell. But I think it is a great idea that you are seeing a doctor.

Good Luck!
Reply:All moles that don't look quite right should be checked out. Even moles that seem ok to our untrained eyes can be very serious, so I think you are doing the right thing by seeing the GP. You should have him/her check your whole body at that appointment, and you should have a whole body check for moles every two years, and more often if you have suspicious moles. Make sure the doc checks soles of your feet and in your hair, as these are common places for melanomas to form (don't know why).
Reply:a skin cancer is different from a mole. but a mole it is a big mole already it can become cancer already.
Reply:sorry but that's your best answer, show it to your doctor
Reply:Without seeing it, I can't tell but i had my mole removed cause I doubted it.If you have doubts that it is something than mole then have it removed.

Reply:I haven't, but I hope you receive favorable results. Usually they are harmless, but it is good to have some of them checked, especially if they have changed recently.

Checking for skin cancer?

I have three normal sized moles on my breasts. But they all have tiny pin-prick sized dots on them. The dots are black and there are about 3-5 on each mole. Is this a sign of skin cancer? Or am I being paraniod?

Checking for skin cancer?
Dermatology is obviously a visual specialty so you would have to see a doc. to have him/her look at them. Black dots are not necessarily a sign of skin cancer, it could be a sign of a lesion changing, which means it is not normal and it's not abnormal but it's somewhere in between so excising the lesion would be a good thing so you don't have to worry about it down the road. There are also lesions that we get that have darker areas in them and that's just the way they are. It's a good idea to have a mole check done once a year and then you should have no worries. Reply:yea, definately see a doctor.
Reply:See a doctor and while your there have him or her do a skin cancer map this is when they document all your moles where they are and the size so it's easier to know when they have changed. Better safe than sorry.

Skin cancer question?

The other day my girlfriend saw my mole on my back and told me that it looked different and that i should see the doctor. Well the doctor checked it out and performed a biopsy on it. I will get the results in 2 weeks. My question is does skin cancer develop from the mole that was removed? What exactly is skin cancer? Thanks.

Skin cancer question?
I had malignant melanoma from a mole that I had removed back in 99. I was totally terrified while I waited for my original results.

When the phone call came I was at work and although I tried not to cry I just broke down. To me hearing the big C was like hearing a death sentence. I was told that they would have to cut deeper to make sure that all the cancer was removed and then I was sent to the hospital to have a sentinel lymph node test completed (they remove some of your lymph nodes to find out if any have cancer).

When the lab gets your biopsy, they will not only check to see if it is cancerous but they will also shave the mole into layers to see if the bottom layers are cancer free. If they are, then they know that they got it all. Since most doctors don't want to dig all the way down the first time, there is a chance that your doctor may have to go in again in the same location. Don't worry, it doesn't hurt anymore than the first time.

Since your mole is on your back it's not very close to any lymph nodes, which is good because the cancer can spread through the lymph glands.

The sites listed below can explain better than I can about what exactly it is, what I wanted to tell you is that it is not the end!!

Although I have to continue to get blood work and x-rays completed twice a year ( there is something funny showing but they are not sure what it is and so far for 8 years it hasn't grown so they don't want to go on), I have never needed chemo or any other type of treatments.

Melanoma is the most deadly form and I'm fine so even if you do have cancer it could just be Basal Cell Carcinoma, which is the most common and is not deadly. And if the mole was caught early (which is sounds like) there is even less to worry about.

Although you will probably stress for the next 2 weeks--try not to--I probably cried enough for both of us--and i didn't even need to.
Reply:Your mole could be a basal cell or squamous cell carcinoma or a melanoma; very smart to go to the doctor. Skin cancer is nothing to fool around with, especially if you are fair skinned like blonds for example. It is just like other cancers in its fast growth and deadliness, even skin cancer kills people. The worst thing a person can do is get sunburned and that includes tanning booths. Your girlfriend sounds like a keeper, take care of her, she is doing a great job of taking care of you.
Reply:Too answer your question, skin cancer will not develop in that spot where they removed the mole, especially if they got all of the cells out. Skin cancer is what it sounds like, cancer of the skin. There are three types of skin cancer, Basal Cell and Squamous Cell Carcinoma and then there is Melanoma. Squamous and Melanoma are the only ones that can spread to other parts of the body and be potentially life threaten. Basal Cell can just be very disfiguring. You also have to keep in mind that there are Atypical (Dysplastic) moles out there too. Those are just abnormal moles that look weird, kinda like a Melanoma but are not cancer at all. The best way to describe an Atypical mole is, and this is how I explain it to people at work, skin cancer is black, b9 moles are white and Atypical mole are grey, so they look funny like a skin cancer but are probably not one or will ever turn into one. If you do end up with one of these Atypical moles, don't be scared just make sure they removed all of it and be seen every 6 months for a complete skin exam.

Take it from me, I work in dermatology, skin cancer is serious if left untreated, but if caught early and treated then you have nothing to worry about, just maybe a scar and acne from all the sunscreen you will be lathering on ;)
Reply:It could be skin caner, you did the right thing by getting it looked at right away because if it is cancer the sooner the better. I had skin cancer almost 2 years ago, I was lucky it was basal cell (meaning it does not spread past the skin). Melonoma is the most dangerous but also the least common form of skin caner, this type spreads (usually quickly) to other parts of your body. If you have the basal cell form of cancer your doctor will completely remove it in the office, its a bit scary but knowing that the cancer has been removed it the best feeling. Keep your expose to the sun limited, people who have had basal cells are far more likely to have melonoma in the future.

Skin Cancer?

Is skin cancer always in the form of a mole, or could I have no moles or markings, and still have skin cancer?

Skin Cancer?
Skin cancer may be in many forms. If you are in doubt, or have risk factors please get an exam by a qualified Medical Doctor or NP.
Reply:Sin cancer is just not on the outside,it is also found internally.I was diagnosed 2 years ago with squamous cell...it has been a long road and now it has returned. If you have a history of skin cancer or someone in yout family does, please have regular check ups.Take care and good luck! Report It

Reply:I dunno but Im scared I may have it too. I get these scaley places on my chest and now my back too that never seem to heal and always have rough scaled skin and are sometimes red. Im terrified to go get checked bc i dont have health insurance and if they put that in my medical records, Ill never be able to get it. If you have insurance, go get checked, dont wait. If you dont, do what I plan to do...go get checked and give them a fake name.

How do I get rid of skin tags without having a surgical proceedure?

I think they are callled skin tags? Basically they are protruding moles. I know it sounds gross but really I have quite a few of them. Please help.

How do I get rid of skin tags without having a surgical proceedure?
Fulgration or diathermy cuterization is not really a surgical procedure. Or you may get them removed by chemical cautery like silver nitrate.

Good luck!

ARe moles genetic or not?

My aunt says that i should go to a dermatologist to get my skin chesked out because i hve more than 50 moles on my body. but my dad and grandparents also have many moles and not one has gotten skin cancer.

ARe moles genetic or not?
The number of moles a person has depends on genetic factors and on sun exposure. Babies for example, are born with flawless skins and as they get exposed to the sun, they develop the moles.

If you have fair skin, are prone to sunburn, and have over 20 (all over) you are a candidate for skin cancer. This doesn't necessarily mean you'll get it, just that you have to be extra careful and suspicious of new moles or ones that have changed in color or diameter. And as logic tells, try to keep out of the sun whenever you can.
Reply:Yes, moles are genetic. Often you will find that you may even have a mole just like another member of your family. (my mom and I have matching moles on our necks)

I have many many moles on my body as well (though I've never counted them). It can be a sign that you are more susceptible to skin cancer, especially if you are fair skinned as well. And as long as your moles don't change color or shape, they're fine. If you ever notice one looking odd, it never hurts to have it checked out.
Reply:they do tend to run in families.i seem to have inherited them from my mom. generally, it's said, that they are of no concern unless they begin to change color or shape but don't assume that b/c your relatives have had no issues with there's that you won't. if you see a change in appearance, have them checked

Skin Cancer?

If I expose a mole that might be skin cancer to the sun, would it get any worse?

Skin Cancer?
yeah it will..Cancerous moles may occur as the person grows due to heredity and environment. Cancerous moles are usually atypical moles (dysplastic nevi) that could develop into malignant melanoma. Skin cancer (melanoma) is a form of cancer that can be fatal. It can be caused by too much exposure to the strong rays of the sun.
Reply:Honestly, more sun exposure won't help it if it is cancerous. I hope you have been checked out by a doctor.

Can hairless dogs get skin cancer?

also can dog's skin tan or devolop freckles and moles like us?

Can hairless dogs get skin cancer?
Animals do get cancers like humans do.

However, it is believed that it takes several years for a cancer to develop.

Since most animals are short-lived compared to humans, unless the animals are exposed to radiation and carcinogenic chemicals, they will hardly get cancer before they die of other causes.

If an animal does get a cancer - usually it will spread much faster than it would in a human.
Reply:I don't see why not.
Reply:They absolutely can develop skin cancer. Especially light skinned dogs. Apply sunscreen . They do not tan but may develop moles. It commonly happens in middle aged dog. This site will help you:

How long can a dog live with untreated skin cancer?

My dog is almost 8 years old. She is an albino Doberman. She belongs to my boyfriend and I am assuming he did not know to keep her out of the sun. I started noticing moles on her that were growing fast and told him he had to have her checked and he did. It came back positive for skin cancer she is covered in moles now and it is too out of control. They said they could cut them out but there are too many. I know and treatment is too exspensive so I would just like an idea of how long will she live and what signs to look for. Right now she seems happy and healthy like her normal loving self. Thank You.

How long can a dog live with untreated skin cancer?
Each dog is different. There is no standard timetable for this. Key is to protect her from further sun expsoure and to make sure she is kept comfortable. Not to mention, knows she is loved!
Reply:It depends on what type on cancer it is, what grade or stage it is (how severe or malignant), whether it has spread to other areas or not... There are a lot of things that determine how long they may live for.

New moles, paranoia?

I am paranoid about moles. Every time I see one that I don't think was there before, I get really scared. I'm 17 and have tanned skin (my mother is from Thailand). A few weeks ago I noticed a mole that I had never seen before, I don't know if it was there or not before because I never looked. Now I get really paranoid and look at my moles all the time, to try and see if they are changing or growing. This mole that I am worried about, its about 4mm big and dark brown, its slightly raised and oval shaped. After I scratched it for a while the skin around it flaked a bit, but it didn't bleed and it doesn't hurt. I'm scared of doctors so don't tell me to go to the doctor. It sounds ridiculous, right? Tell me I'm worrying over nothing. How can I chill out? I read alot about stuff I'm worried about, which seems to make it worse and put ideas in my head (like skin cancer). I read that 'rapidly changing' moles should be a worry, but what constitutes as rapidly changing? Help!

New moles, paranoia?
Ok first of all its common for new moles to appear around your age so stop panicking. Melanoma (skin cancer) are usually blackish moles that increase in size over some time. They also are not generally raised but tend to look like they are under the skin. My advice to you is not to panick and monitor your new moles if they spread to change colour at all get them checked out right away. but don't go to the doctor just because you've seen a new mole. New moles will pop up here and there in your life try not to pick at them because they can get infected and just monitor them for change in colour and shape OK! I'm sure your fine by what it sounds though
Reply:Well personally as much as u hate it you should see a dr. Also what eva you do dont scratch them. In middle of night once i accidently scratched my mole on back. It hurt and felt like i was getting killed and it started to bleed massivly. I went to the hospital and they had to cut it off and clean out skin because it got infected and i also needed stitches. Now do you want to go through my experience.

Reply:Dude don't scratch them people will notice them more. You have to have surgery to get them cut out.

Skin Doctors?

Apparently you can find specialistis that monitor your skin for changes in freckles and moles to make sure you don't develop skin cancer. What are they called and do you need a referal for your first visit?

Skin Doctors?
I'm not sure if it is a brand name (probably is), but in my area (in Australia), there are a heap of clinics called 'Mole Scan' (and no referral needed)... but you can always check with your dermatologist, they should be able to point you ini the right direction.
Reply:Dermatologist.

In the USA you do not need a referal.

New marks on my skin after sunburn?

i got a pretty bad sunburn about 2 weeks ago (small blisters and peeling; took more then 1 week to heal) now that it is healed, i noticed moles/marks on the sunbruned skin that were not there before. what could this mean? should i go to see a doctor

New marks on my skin after sunburn?
As long as they are normal freckles and moles. A lot of people including myself have new beauty marks after tanning. If they are odd shaped, colored, or raised, then these need to be seen my a dermatologist as it could be skin cancer.

African Amercian skin question not sure what they are called. Can you help identify the correct term?

I am a forty five year old female with spots that grow on my face. I do know that they are inherited, they are not skin tags although I do have a few of those. I do not think that they are moles, they are irregular somewhat flat but raised with a rough surface. Both my mother and grandfather had them and they increased in number as they aged. I noticed that mine have too. Anybody know what they are really called. I don't think that they are warts and I know that they aren't moles and they aren't skin tags.

I think that they maybe keloids. I have included a URL to a site that might help.

Reply:You are very welcome. After I posted the link I figured that it was the other condition. I hope that you can have that taken care of or it has removed some worry about it beings something else. I use Webmd alot, so you might want to put it in your Favorites too. Report It

Reply:the way you described it =you have moles=maybe it's best for a Dr to check them for you =good luck
Reply:The best person to help you is a dermatologist. You want those identified, in case it would be skin cancer.
Reply:They could be age spots, and those aren't limited to African-Americans.

Check with your doctor to be sure, because suddenly sprouting moles could be forerunners of skin cancer.
Reply:most likley age spots or a somthing your parents had and now you have it.
Reply:Irregular, flat and rough sounds like skin cancers. You should talk to your doctor to be sure. If they are they can be removed. I don't think they're keloids because then they would be smooth not rough. Keloids are generally scar tissue from a previous injury and tend to be domed not flat.

Tanning bed bad for moles?

I was wondeing if laying in the tanning bed was bad for your moles, because I have been laying since last year and around certain moles I have extremely white skin.. I was just wondering if this is normal???

Tanning bed bad for moles?
Keep a watchful eye on your moles for any changes in shape, size, or color, as this could be an indication of skin cancer or pre-cancer. It is a good idea to check with your doctor or a dermatologist for annual skin checks. Tanning does increase your risk for skin cancer. Have you considered using the self-tanning lotions or sprays? They are a great alternative and have a natural color - lots of varieties available, even for fair skin :)
Reply:is bad for skin and moles also

uv radiotion damages cells dna,

soo it accelarates skin aging, and ofourse the cahnce of skin cancer,

those spray on tens are prety cool alternative

much safer
Reply:Tanning beds are just bad for you. You question is a bit like asking if smoking is bad for your teeth!
Reply:A mole is a collection of pigmentation in the skin, and tanning is only accelerating this process in the skin. Especially if you are fair - skinned, don't make yourself a bed for cancer. There are plenty of self-tanning options that can give you the look you want without putting yourself in danger of cancer.

Also you should be proud to be have the skin color that you have and just try to be healthy - go for a natural glow.

If you clip off a skin tag (not a mole) yourself, is it bad for you (it's just extra skin...)?

It might not even hurt, right? And as long as you use Neosporin, it shouldn't get infected...

If you clip off a skin tag (not a mole) yourself, is it bad for you (it's just extra skin...)?
To remeove skin tags you simply get a pair of nair clippers and clean them throughly with soap and alcohol. Then clean area to be worked on. Take clippers and simply clip off the skin tag. I had many ot them and thought they were ugly. Now I have none and they never came back. They were on my neck and even on my torso. The only bleed a very little bit and leave no scar at all. Just make sure you only clip the tag part and not your skin. Get someone to help if you have trouble seeing well. Good luck to you and I hope your skin looks as good as mine does. As usual, please do not do anything of a medical nature without the advice of your doctor as they are the best to asvise you on all things medical.
Reply:thats disgusting. But i would do it
Reply:i had one under my arm.I accidently shaved it . It felt like a splinter was in it and ws being twisted. It was irritating .No bleeding . Now its gone ! Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Reply:i would consult your doctor before you do anything. I know that the way to clip off a mole is a Minor procedure. i would say that conslting your doctor would be the safe way to go.

I have a mole on my face and its evened out with the skin, what would it look like after it comes off?
I would consult a dermatologist or two.

It would think it would be dependent not only the circumference of the mole, but the depth of it as well that would need to be removed.

Ask an experience doctor of dermatology.
Reply:dude .. it looks kinda crappy and i had a friend he had the same thing he put limewater on it ... it thing went away but burnt the skin.
Reply:eeeewwww have laser surgery
Reply:A plastic surgeon is your best bet. I had some moles on my neck which were looking very threatening they were on the verge of cancer and the dermatologist said that since they are in an area to where it can be seen it would be best to have plastic surgeon remove them Glad I did!! The reason is, years later I had some on my arm and shoulder that had to removed, once they were removed I had some pretty ugly scars there.

If you get skin cancer in a mole will the mole change or stay the same?

The mole will:

- Change color. Usually it will be several different colors.

- Change shape. Usually it will have oddly shaped edges, instead of circular.

- Change size. Usually, if it's bigger than an eraser (on the back of a pencil), you should get it checked out.

Ensure your doctor does a check of any of your "beauty marks" during your annual physicals. They can easily be removed with lasers if they're questionable.

If you get skin cancer in a mole will the mole change or stay the same?
The mole with likely discolor and become irregualar in shape. You should have you doctor look at your moles whenever you go...
Reply:I would change but you should go to a doctor and not rely on answers.yahoo for such a serious quesiton
Reply:It will change, though sometimes you won't notice a change unless you take a picture over a few weeks/months/years.
Reply:it will turn darker, swell or go black... get an autopsy to see if it is cancer, it may just be the mole...dont worry
Reply:The mole will change. If you have a changing mole see a dermatologist right away!!!
Reply:I believe the mole darkens over time and grows larger. Sometimes if aggravated, it bleeds.

You should really get it checked and have a medical procedure called a Biopsy done to be sure.
Reply:It depends on what action you take on it. If you want it gone, you can cut it out, burn it out or put emu oil on it for a month then it will change colour, shrink dry out and then you just wash it off.
Reply:The mole will usually change. However, the change may not be noticeable to you. I was diagnosed in January with Melanoma. I had no other symptoms but a strange looking mole on the back of my upper right thigh. I'm not one to be out in the sun too much and the area of my body it was located was not an area that would have really been exposed to the sun. Since then, I've had three surgeries and am awaiting my body to heal up from the surgeries enough to get chemotherapy.

If you or somebody you know has a questionable looking mole, it's definitely worth the time to get it checked out by a dermatologist.
Reply:Usually, it will change. I had one nearly triple in sise.

Best wishes
Reply:Surely that will have a change in color, consistency, size, appearance.from its original color (Mole may be pink or black or brown )It may become firm to hard on pressure,it may increase in size,it may looks like cauliflower! But this all happenes while the cancer is in progress !If it is stationary dont worry but Pl dont go for tatoomarks as it will enhance this cancer activity in future !Always YouRsmE

i have what started out as looking like a blood blister on my ankle 3 years ago has grown and got darker and is slightly raised.what could it be?i just read an article on a woman who found mole on ankle and it turned out to be skin cancer.what do you think?

I have a very dark mole on my ankle, have just read article on skin cancer?????
I got a mole removed from my back last week, it was quite easily done. Getting 5 stitches out tomorrow. I suggest you just go to the quack and they will have a look, if it's cut out before it goes cancerous there will be no need to worry. If it is cancerous, then the sooner its tackled the better. :-)
Reply:It could be , or it could just be a mole. Get it checked out if you're worried and you can get it removed easily.
Reply:Is it itchy, changing size, does it have a surrounding lighter colour round it??

They are more obvious signs. but if its been there that long I wouldnt worry....but as you are, get some advice from a GP.
Reply:Get it checked out by a doctor especially if it has grown or changed shape. It may be melanoma but most likely it is something dermatological. Put your mind at ease and get it checked out, and if, god forbid, it is melanoma the sooner you catch it the quicker it can be treated. Best wishes
Reply:We can't conclude that it's a skin cancer, until you visit a Dermatologist, who could help you determine if it's cancerous or benign. For now, don't worry about it. Make an urgent appointment with the Dermatologist and wait for the results. Worrying doesn't help,so be patient and wait for his decision.Hope, this will help you out.
Reply:It doesn't sound malignant or anything, if it starts to change form, anything else then round, then let it get checked. When you're not sure, always go to a doctor. Just in case, even if it is just to reassure you self. A doctor can explain what you need to be on the lookout for.
Reply:hi i had amole removed in Feb this year it had changed in size and bled but it was fine so go get it checked I'm sure you will be OK good luck

Black circles? I would talk to your doctor about the best way of removing/treating whatever it is you are talking about. If they ARE like moles, your doctor can nitrogen freeze them off and you'll be rid of them pretty fast. If they are more like freckles, you might have to just live with them and get some good coverup. (that "True Match" stuff works pretty good. )

This is caused by Sun Damage ..go see a medical spa esthetician..there are treatments to help fade this sun damage..and to prevent more in the future ..try to avoid tanning or high exposure to the sun between 10 am - 4 pm..

and ALWAYS WEAR SUNBLOCK...or don't and keep on getting more..but once you hit a certain age you start to see terrible wrinkles to go along..so start young %26amp; look young longer

2) Also, what's wrong with this man's skin? He has HUGE mole-looking things ALL over his body. He just simply said it was a skin condition.

The guy could have psoriasis or it could be excema--both are conditions that cause raised, sometimes scaly red areas on the skin.

The gentleman with "moles" may have a virus. Like another answer-giver said, it's hard to tell without photos.

Is there a superstition around sprouting a new mole on your skin? What does it mean?

malignant melanoma

Is there a superstition around sprouting a new mole on your skin? What does it mean?
I'm not sure about superstition, but a new mole appearing on your skin could be an early sign of skin cancer. It would be a good idea to go to a dermatologist.
Reply:No superstition that I know of, but it can mean skin cancer. If you just got it and it grows or changes colors and shapes, you definitely need to see a dermatologist.

Red bumps (maybe blood-filled) on skin?

I have these small red bumps on different parts of my skin - one on the bridge of my nose and a few on my knuckles. They are not swollen and/or pus-filled. In fact, I have had them for years. They have never been painful until recently, but they only hurt if I itch or push on them. I'm not sure what they are, but I would like to get rid of them if I can.

I'm don't know if this is connected, but I got them around the same time that a few skin-colored bumps (almost like moles, but not sure) started growing. I have one on my forehead and one on my cheek. I thought they were pimples when I first got them, but they never went away. They are not painful, and I don't mind them so much because they are flesh-colored and aren't very noticable.

Thanks!!

Red bumps (maybe blood-filled) on skin?
It sounds like a hemangioma. Which is a bump that has a lot of blood flow going to it. Look it up on the net, so you can get a better idea of what im talking about. I would also make an appointment to see a dermatologist.

Skin Tag vs. Genital Wart?

How do you tell the difference between the two? There is only one, and I though that for it to be warts you had more than one. There is information saying that you can confuse a wart, a skin tag, and a mole, so how do you truely tell the difference? Especially if there is no 'sure fire' way to 'test' for warts?

**I know the 'Go to the doctor' people will be out today...so read the following...

My doctor has never said anything about it, so I always though it was a skin tag, until I saw his nurse yesterday. She tells me it's warts. Do I panic (not literally), or do I just wait for my doctor to check it out first? Plus it's not like I haven't had that area checked out a billion times in the last 6 months, b/c I'm pregnant. So it's not likely that my doctor missed something like this right?

~Oh boy, here we go...

Skin Tag vs. Genital Wart?
I wouldn't worry yet. I would just mention it to the doctor next time you're in and tell him that his nurse mentioned it was a wart. He should be able to tell you and then remove it if necessary. It's not uncommon for pregnant women to get skin tags. It's also common for overweight and older people. I seriously doubt you have a single genital wart though. Good luck!
Reply:Either one...

there is a procedure to get rid of both
Reply:I have had genital warts for sometime..the kind of HPV that i have is only in my blood stream which means that I dont really have any signs or symptoms from it except a few bumps that are rather small....I have nothing like the pics you see on here...I have skin tags as well...Skin tags are more of a little flap of skin where as a wart feels or looks like a hard mole....i have one bump that feels andlooks like a mole but it is a wart...I would have YOUR doctor take a look at it and see what he/she says....if you have not already i would GOOGLE both of those and look at pics to get a general idea of what they both look like...
Reply:TELL YOUR DOCTOR YOU MAY HAVE A WART AND YOU ARE CONCERNED HE WILL BE EMBRASSED HE DIDNT TELL YOU ALL THIS TIME

A new mole-like thing appeared ... It's raised above the skin?

My friend has this dark brown colored mole kinda thing around his neck-line (not visible when he wears a shirt but if he unbuttons two of them and moves his shirt towards left, you can see it) ... He says it appeared around 1.5 years ago. It doesn't itch at all but as it's above the skin he's really concerned about it...

One thing more, he tried a couple of times to rub or scratch it which makes it smaller (like the outside area removes) and only a little bit is left on the skin, which after some months again gets bigger and bigger (The biggest it became was of about the fingerprint size).

Is this cancer?? I hope it's not, and please let me know if there's something he could do about it ?? And if he needs to have it checked, who should he consult ? What kind of doctor ??

Sincere replies only please ???

A new mole-like thing appeared ... It's raised above the skin?
Sincere???

Sincerely, do you think anyone, even a dermatologist could diagnose this via verbal description?

If you are so concerned, make the appointment, offer to pay for it. But do NOT rely on this forum for medical advice.
Reply:If he has any questions he should really see a Dr. no matter what!
Reply:have them go to the doctor they can remove it, no its not cancer tell them the more they scrath the more irated it gets. the more irated it gets the bigger it appers.
Reply:I'm not a doctor, but I suggest he gets it checked out. They say that if I mole changes size or color, it NEEDS to be examined by a doctor. I guess he would go to a dermatologist (skin doctor)...or he can go to a regular physician or walk-in clinic and get a referral to another specialty doctor. It could be something benign, but just incase...the sooner he goes, the better.
Reply:Yes, he should go to the doctor. Even if he has no pain from it. There is no telling what it could be, but if it "appeared", this is something to be checked out
Reply:your very sweet to asked this question for you friend well it would best for him to see a doctor might take a blood test and tell you what wrong it just might be a discoloring from the sun . see a doctor go with him.
Reply:Is he just stupid? Any normal person would go to a doctor.
Reply:He needs to first go to see his regular M.D.. Do not put it off, go as soon as possible. Good Luck!!!!
Reply:Don’t panic but have him checked by a dermatologist and soon. It might be a matter of life and death

It is never a good idea to screech or rub a mole like formation

What happens if you have a mole that is skin cancer and do nothing about it?

I'm just curious!

What happens if you have a mole that is skin cancer and do nothing about it?
Definately get it checked out by a professional (dermatologist/doctor). My dad passed away from skin cancer which became Melanoma. If you have it removed during the early stages there is less chance of it spreading. If you wait the cancer can spread to your vital organs. It's deadly and nothing to ignore. A good web site to learn more about skin cancer is http://www.mpip.org.
Reply:The cancer will spread to surrounding areas - and head to the lymph nodes - and likely a major organ such as your liver, lungs - stomach, brain, the bones- the sooner you get it removed and the margins are clear the better your chances are that you stand a good chance of survival -
Reply:It depends on the type of skin cancer. There are some that you can die with and some that you can die of. When in doubt, cut it out
Reply:kelly e is absolutely correct with her answer. The key to surviving skin cancer is early detection and prompt treatment.Get to a dermatologist ASAP!!!! This is not something you can ignore. It will not go away.IT WILL KILL YOU WITHOUT PROPER TREATMENT!!!!
Reply:You can die I have a friend who is dieing from sink cancer right now and he had it treated but it came back and then went to his lungs and now there is nothing else that can be done he is going to die so not treating it would be a very bad thing to do.

What happens if you pop a mole on your skin?

i heard you get cancer. is that true?

What happens if you pop a mole on your skin?
no, but it can get infected...it is tissue, not a pimple...you can't "pop" it...if it's bothering you, see a doctor for proper removal
Reply:well, if you are able to "pop" it, it's probably not a mole at all, but already skin cancer. maybe you should get that checked... a simple biopsy perhaps?
Reply:idk, but i scratched a mole off and it grewwback and i had to get it removed/
Reply:That's both disgusting and impossible. If you try to "pop" it (I don't even want to know how someone would go about doing that...), it will just bleed and most likely get infected, but it won't go away. As for the cancer thing, not all moles are even a sign of skin cancer; some people are born with them.
Reply:Well, I dont think thats true. About 5 years ago I popped out my mole. It was gone and my skin healed itself. But now its starting to grow back. I think you should go to those mole remover people.

Why do I have so many moles/freckles on my body?

I hate them! I want beautiful skin, and I hate these moles :(

Why do I have so many moles/freckles on my body?
well i call them beauty spots and i have got heaps of them too. theres a few on my face and everyone says there beautiful and i guess they are but im very insecure about them and have never really liked them i just wish my face could be clear but i guess its just sumtin thats been given to u and you have to flaunt it thats what im trying to learn to do
Reply:they are very high fashion! hi have you seen eva mendes?
Reply:get them removed
Reply:A lot of blondes I know have a lot of moles. You can have them removed and should also have them looked at.
Reply:moles are beautiful darling. grow to love them. why would you think that they weren't beautiful?

Some women try to go out in the sun to make their moles come out.
Reply:moles are generally genetic- check your other relatives and chances are they too have the same affliction. They are nothing to worry about unless you get frequent sunburns and even sometimes they can mutate and become cancerous. Best thing to do is see a dermatologist and have what is called a skin mapping done- they will photograph and note the location of each mole and also measure them- this way in the future when you or someone else notices the mole growing or changing in anyway, you will have these notations for a base in which to see if the moles are turning to cancer. Its really important to limit your sun exposure and to use a high SPF sunscreen all year long so you wont risk getting skin cancer- all moles are precancerous and can turn into cancer from over exposure to the sun.

I have numerous moles myself and have visited a dermatologist so my information is reality based.
Reply:I like to call them my beauty marks. But on the the serious side, I have them too except mine are like brown freckles. All over my face, arms, legs, and body and I love them, it makes me unique. I also have one on my cheek and someone told me I had a Cindy Crawford thing going on.

But if you really don't like your moles have them checked out, sometimes they might be precancerous spots.
Reply:it's in your type of skin that you have moles and freckles..

there's the skin lightening treatment to help you fade them..

Skin lightening lotioin?

i have this skin discoloration from a mole, and i heard skin lightenin lotion can cure it. its was a mole n than it grew flatter n flatter n now its just brown spot like a blemish, do u guys have any recommendations?

Skin lightening lotioin?
go see a dermatologist
Reply:Ask Michael Jackson.
Reply:Yes, you should go to a dermatologist. Don't try to treat this yourself. If it is just a mole, they can remove it in 10 minutes in the office.
Reply:Head for a tanning salon. That should even it out/ make it blend in with the rest of the acquired tan.

On a serious note. Winter is coming and during this period many people are covered from head to toe. When the summer comes that's when everyone heads for the beaches and suntans and exposes themselves. So, it will blend in during the season you have your skin fully exposed to the outside world. Don't worry be happy. Cao.
Reply:yes i use skin lighters for spots it helps a lot good luck
Reply:Bee-Luscious has one that is great. I think it's patented too. It will be on their skincare pages. I can't remember the name right now. Just go to beeroyalproducts.com.
Reply:I found it for you, Bee Luscious Cosmetics its called Advanced Lightening cream ...GOOD LUCK

If a mole is mutated cells, then why is a mole that gives skin cancer different?

A mole is not necesarilly made of mutated cells. The cells of a mole (as well as thos in a scar) are just arranged differently from the skin around the mole. Cancer moles are actually made of different cells, cells that mutated and grow without any control.

To remove a mole on the skin next to your genital area do you go to a dermatologist or the gynocologist?

If you have a family doctor they will remove it in their office. If not, just give your gyno a call and see what they say. :)

To remove a mole on the skin next to your genital area do you go to a dermatologist or the gynocologist?
Any doctor could do that... Since it's not on your face, a plastic surgeon is not necessary... Just go to your family doc or a dermatologist... They'll just pop it right out.
Reply:dermatologist. gynos only know how to deal with gyno stuff, and it's only skin NEXT to the 'gyno area' yeah so dermatologist. Good luck and merry christmas!!!
Reply:I would say go to your gyn
Reply:well actually my gyno is the one who spotted the mole on my bottom( i had no idea it was there) and she removed it. she numb me and stitched and now i have a scar. i have no idea what it looks like bc i can see it.
Reply:I'd see a dermatologist. They are the experts at removing moles.
Reply:My sis had a mole on her genital area and the gyno was the one who removed it.

Dissappearing moles???? any ideas???

Dissappearing moles???? any ideas???
YOU'RE HEALED! HALLELUJAH!

Sudden appear - Moles?

Two days ago I noticed two moles, one on side above waist and another on the upper back. I never noticed it before and it's not big. Both brown. Little bit bumpy but not really. I'm 13. 5'5 and 96 lbs, not that often under sun, but sometimes. No family history of skin cancer. What could this mole be? Is it normal?

Sudden appear - Moles?
It is normal. You are reaching puberty. Does it hurt? if it hurts or it's dry it could be warts, but it's not dangerous.

However, since you mentioned are you 13, I assume it's puberty. IF more are appearing, You can ask a doctor.
Reply:You should see a dermatoligist. After having things carved, burned and frozen off me for the past 23 years (I grew up on the Gulf Coast of Florida) I would be suspicious of moles that suddenly appear. They may be nothing but it is better to be sure.

What are the signs that a mole could be skin cancer?

When it comes to medical stuff, I don't know so much. but I'm terrified to death off cancer. And I have this mole on the palm of my hand (strange place for a mole, isn't it?) that I've had ever since I can remember. And I recently noticed that it's losing its perfectly round shape. A little chunk of it is gone in the corner. I also realized tat whenever I pet the dog of whom the family I babysit on the head, he tries to nip the palm of my hand. I never thought anything about it, I thought it's just a game he likes to play, but is it possible that an untrained dog can sniff out cancer? Am I just being paranoid? Can you have sakin cancer in a spot that is not normally exposed to te sun? Can some one who is medically educated please set me straight?

What are the signs that a mole could be skin cancer?
Definitely have it examined by a doctor. Changing size and shape of a mole, especially if the color and shape become unsymmetrical, can indicate cancer. And some dogs can detect the chemical changed smells of cancer. They did a study with dogs detecting bladder cancer several years ago. Or he could just not like you to pet him.

Have it checked, have it removed if it really worries you.

And yes you can get skin cancer on non sun exposed spots, they get more light than you realize. It can run in families, too. It runs in mine. My grandma died from a spot that wasn't treated properly and metastasized. My dad did a lot of farm work for decades not wearing sunscreen and not always a hat or shirt. He has spots removed from his scalp, chest, back and arms about 2x per year because he has damaged his skin so bad. UV lights can cause more damage to his skin. He had to wear sunscreen on his face when he worked in a nursing home that had UV lights. But that is extreme and doesn't effect the average person, for him its just that his skin is so badly damaged from all those years in the sun.
Reply:The way to know is if it changes color or bleeds with the least little pressure on it . Report It

Reply:By all means, get to a doctor - a dermatologist. You could have something very serious there. Report It

Reply:look for abnormal or blotchy appearance. Irregular edges, funky discoloration. Things like that. Moles in and of themselves are harmless usually.
Reply:Please have it checked out - skin cancer usually is remedied by minor excisional surgery...
Reply:I know that when a mole appears out of nowhere on your skin, it could be a sign of skin cancer. I have also heard that discoloration could be a sign too. I highly doubt that the dog is sniffing out cancer, i just think it is attracted to the color. I suggest you get it checked out by a doctor, eventhough it is not that ig of a deal, it will make you less paranoid.
Reply:The signs of a cancerous mole are changes in shape, size, color, or elevation of a mole.
Reply:The differences between a harmless mole and one that might be a problem are: irregular borders, uneven coloration, size larger than a pencil eraser, any asymmetry (difference between left and right halves, or upper and lower halves). Any change in a mole (change in size, change in color, or bleeding) should be checked out right away. i don't mean to scare you. A mole on the palm of your hand could change just because it's always being irritated. I had a mole behind my earlobe my entire life. One day I noticed it was bleeding and seemed to be elevated and tender. I went to the dermatologist, who removed it and determined it was fine. The mole had become irritated from the french wire earrings I was wearing.
Reply:hi

You are right to be concerned, be aware in all changed that happen to your body. Do not become paranoid just be aware. Here are some facts for you from the American Cancer Society hope they help, and seek the opinion of a Dr. if you think you have these symptoms. Good Luck and God Bless, Pat

Signs and Symptoms of Melanoma

The ABCD rule can help distinguish a normal mole from a melanoma.

Asymmetry: One half of the mole does not match the other half.

Border irregularity: The edges of the mole are irregular, ragged, blurred, or notched.

Color: The color over the mole is not the same. There may be differing shades of tan, brown, or black, and sometimes patches of red, blue, or white.

Diameter: The mole is larger than 6 millimeters (about ¼ inch or about the size of a pencil eraser), although in recent years doctors are finding more melanomas between 3 and 6 millimeters.

Another very important warning of melanoma is that a mole has been growing or changing its shape or color. Some melanomas do not fit the ABCD rule described above, so it is particularly important for you to be aware of changes in skin lesions, new skin lesions, any pigmented areas that look different from the rest of your moles, and any sores that don’t heal.
Reply:I am not in the med Field but it sounds a little alarming to me.I would definitely go and have a doc check it out.Give yourself peace of mind.
Reply:i think you should get it checked out i had a friend that had skin cancer and it started out on his nose it started getting red and would not clear up so he had it checked out and he had cancer so good luck

If you had mole removal done, can you replace it with artificial skin?

I had a mole removal done on my face a couple of years back. It got rid of the mole but it left a mark on my skin that I cover up with some makeup. I was wondering if there is a procedure out there where they put artificial skin on the affected area to get rid of the mark?

If you had mole removal done, can you replace it with artificial skin?
No such thing as artificial skin transplant. They could have done a skin graft (skin from another part of your own body) to cover it, but now that 2 years has gone by, you'll need to see a plastic surgeon for this corrective and aesthetic surgery. Some will even consult with you for free.
Reply:no, they stretch your own. but before they do that have a silicone implant put there.
Reply:to remove moles cut a piece of Garlic and place on mole with a bandaid, make sure the garlic doesnt touch the normal skin or it will rash.

Moles go within 10 days on average flaking off.

If you have scar tissue from a surgical removal take aspirin and cut it with 50% water and place on scar tissue with a bandaid. Scar will disappear.

Black Bear Hamster. Is this a skin condition or cancer? Please help.?

Have had male hamster for over a month and today found black spot under fur on back. Has been scratching a lot since we got him. Spot is raised much like a mole on human skin. Time to go to the vet? Seems to be healthy in every other way. Please advise if your hamster has ever had this. Thank you much :)

Black Bear Hamster. Is this a skin condition or cancer? Please help.?
I don't have experience w/ hamsters but I have pet rats. I've actually brought my pet rat to see a vet bcuz she had a tumor. I'd make an appt w/ a vet, but make sure its a vet w/ knowledge of small animals such as rats, hamsters etc. Some vets don't chg very much for small animals but ask first how much they would chg. My nice vet chgd me only $10.00 to put my pet rat to sleep. By the way, the girl who answered your ? saying ur crazy-she is very rude and mean spirited to reply like that. Good luck!
Reply:u really dont know anything until u ask the vet. wut do u expect us to say, "of course its chistalitis"? seriously, ur crazy.
Reply:hes fine. just a birth mark. if hes eating fine and drinking and having plenty of exercise, you have nothing to worry about.
