What is the procedure for this and how painful is it?
I'm going to the dermatologist soon to have it done.
But, 3 years ago I got a number of warts frozen and scraped off which hurt pretty badly.
Just wondering how the pain compares.
My mom said moles should be less painful because warts are more planted into the skin.
Serious question about the removal of moles.?
I had some ugly moles removed a few years ago. I was really nervous. It was quick and painless. The worst part was the shot to numb the area. It doesnt hurt during or after removal. aND YOU'LL BE GLAD TO BE RID OF THE UGLY THINGS. i KNOW i WAS!
Reply:It depends on how they do it. I had a mole removed a couple of years ago, and the doctor did it in her office, just *schnick* with the scalpel and it was gone. I barely felt anything and only had to have a band-aid on it.
However the biopsy came back that some of the cells were dysplasic (not pre-cancer, just odd cells), so they wanted to remove more. I went to a plastic surgeon for that one, and they numbed the skin and took out a good chunk. (About an inch.) I had stitches. It still didn't really hurt (and not as much as the warts I had removed, either), but I did have to deal with stitches and stuff.
Overall, it didn't hurt as bad as my warts coming off either time.
Good luck!
Reply:I had some burned off face and neck and my doctor gave me a local anesthetic. was a little tender for a few days but not unbearable
Reply:Ive had multiple moles removed all in differant ways and none of them hurt. Ive also had a wart removed and it hurt like a bi***. It also doesnt hurt to tell your doc that youre nervous when you go in, they tend to be a little niecer and gentle.
Reply:My mom and grandma both got big moles removed from there backs and they said it did not hurt at all. It just takes a second.
Reply:This is not painful, can be performed by a dermotologist normally and the one I had taken off was $30 or $40 dollars.
Moles r not scraped off, my removal was painless.
Reply:There are two ways to remove moles, neither of which will cause you any pain. A dermatologist or plastic surgeon can use a scalpel to slice the mole off or the mole can be removed by cutting it out and then stitching the skin together.
I highly recommend you have the mole sliced off by a plastic surgeon.
Reply:i had a large mole removed a few years ago and it was not that bad. they first gave me a shot to numb the area and then he cut it off and cauterized the area, it was healed in about a week or so
