Could I have skin cancer?

I have a mole about 2" under my left breast, on the upper part of my belly. Except, the "mole" has no color! If I prick at it, it does not hurt. Could this be skin cancer? I do have a history of cancer in my family.

Also, I will be visiting my women's doctor soon, should I have her look at it?

Could I have skin cancer?
The only way to truly know is to go for a diagnosis. You should ask your doctor about it and to examine you.

Although you may have a family history of cancer, it does not mean that you will necessarily have one. You need to pay attention to your diet and do more regular exercises to reduce your risk.

To know more about skin cancer, here are some articles that you can refer to

Reply:Have it checked out. If you are going to the doctor anyways it wont take any extra time, and it might save your life.
Reply:My skin cancer was found about there, but I wouldn't worry my mole had bled and grew - so if it's been there - or changed color or shapes - have it checked out and no losing sleep until you have it removed and wait for results - even then I am sure you will be fine.
Reply:It doesn't sound like skin cancer. Usually you suspect a mole to be cancerous if:

- its asymmetrical

- its borders changed (color, borders got raised

- if its color changes

- if its diameter increases in a short amount of time

since you are going to the doctor anyways have them look at it but i wouldn't worry needlessly

plus you haven't told us what kind of cancer runs in your family, if its not skin cancer it doesn't make you more susceptible to it. has the size of the mole changed or has it been like this always? if it has always been like this don't worry.
