Skin Cancer question?

Does skin cancer cause a bump on you skin? I have a bump that has what looks like a mole on it.

Skin Cancer question?
Yes skin cancer can appear in that way. Don't freak out yet, I want you to consider it's characteristics:

1.) Color - is it very dark (blackish), is there red mixed in?

2.) Does it have irregular boarders?

3.) Are the boarders assymetrical?

4.) Did it appear out of no where?

If it really concerns you call your doctor for an appointment to get it checked out. They may refer you to a dermatologist for a biopsy, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Hope this helps. Good Luck! :-)
Reply:This could be many things,but I don't think it's cancer,as it's the mole that would have changed appearances,but I have not heard of a bumplike mole.Go see a doc hun,then u'll know for sure. :)
Reply:Here is everything you should know about skin melanoma(s).
Reply:Since I live in Arizona, skin cancer is a big issue. I try to keep track of the moles I have and what they look like. If you notice a new mole, or if an existing one changes size or color, I would go see a doctor. Better to be safe than sorry on this one.
Reply:Yes, Skin Cancer can cause a bump on the skin. I recently had a bump on my head removed and discovered it was Skin Cancer. Make sure you make an appointment with your dermatologist. Your bump could be nothing, but it also could be something harmful. Have it checked out.
