How long does it take for skin to heal if i get mole removed?

How long does it take for the skin to completely heal after a mole is removed? Will it leave a scar?





Also, does it make a scab as the mole falls out or do you come out of the doctor's appointment with a "hole" where the mole used to be?





It's a facial mole that I'm thinking of removing. I don't want to look like a monster as the skin is healing.

I have had two moles removed, one on my back and one on my head, the one on my head was burned off and the one on my back they cut out then stitched up and yes they do leave scars and noticeable onces depending on the size of the mole. There will not be no hole they will stitch it up afterwards. Well hope all goes well.
Reply:My cat catches most of the moles in my yard. I don't see any marks in the yard.
Reply:my friend had 2 removed, around small/ medium size. she has darkish skin, and she didnt want to go to a party the day after the surgery but i saw her in a week and the scars barely stood out, i hardly noticed them, they were less obvious than the moles.
Reply:I had a large one removed from the back of my neck about 10 years ago. I had a raised small scabby area for a very short while during the healing, and now it looks like a flat light brown crater on the back of my neck. Originally, it was much darker, but all scars fade over time..





If you dont like the scar the mole removal leaves, you can always have a plastic surgeon spot-treat the area to diminish it.





Or, there are many scar serums in stores today. that you can use once the healing has progressed... Scarsoft and mederma work great.
Reply:I think that mole removal works for everyone differently.





I know someone who had moles removed about 2 years ago, and


A) she still has raised bumps in those areas


B) The surgery didn't work on the other mole, which now is a mole with a raised bump around it.


C) In the place where one of the moles was successfully removed, she now has a fairly large grayish brown scar.





I think that her case may have been uncommon though.





I have heard of people getting moles removed that have been completely successful, and have left no unsightly problems.
