Yes, it will work. It should die off in a day or two at most. If they are small, you can even try pinching them off with your thumb nail.
Reply:I have heard to take a cotton ball with some apple cider vinegar and put it on with a bandaid, it will eventually fall off.

Reply:If it's not too large to be dangerous, numb it with ice and cut it off with sharp, CLEAN sissors. Next light a match, let it burn for a few seconds and blow it out.
