only answer if you actuallly know for a fact. . not if you've only heard from someone like me.
thanks
Is it true that if you pick a freckle or mole out of your skin, its possible to get some type of skin cancer??
Its dangerous because it can cause not only bleeding but yes, it can "trigger" stagnant cancers. Always watch for a change in the color and/or shape of a mole as well. They can be very easily removed using local anesthesia in the MD office. If it looks suspicious, go see your physician.
Reply:It may do. There is no absolutes.
The rule is that you must never pick or mess with a freckle or mole.
Reply:if its canserous i imagine
Reply:No, it won't cause cancer. In fact, medical removal of large moles is a recommended prevention to keep them from becoming cancerous. Skin cancer is caused by cellular changes in the skin, usually resulting from an oncovirus or UV exposure.
But, if you try to dig out a freckle or mole on your own, I can guarantee you a big ugly scar.
Reply:no it won't likely cause skin cancer, but it can cause an excessive loss of blood.
Reply:removing a freckle ora mole from your skin cannot give a person skin cancer.an infection is however possible and fingering the area can lead to a nasty looking pimple like growth.
Reply:I honestly don't believe so. I know it's not a good idea to take on of those things off, dealing with your skin and the actual infection it can cause, but I don't think you can get cancer from it. Most cancer is due to negative radiation and such. The reason you HAVE a mole is from a cancerous gene at a lower level. A freckle is merely a large clogging of blood and such, but I don't know why you would want to cut one off. OO Sounds painful.
Reply:They say that cancerous cells can enter the blood stream from this sort of thing,I know that you should not mess about with these things.
Reply:It wont lead to cancer, i have just been to the doctor about a mole i have on my face which bleeds from time to time and he said there is nothing to worry about.
Reply:It's not a good idea.
I'm not sure about causing other cancers, but there is a definite risk of bleeding that won't stop.
Having said that - I've done it twice with moles, and not had any problems....
Once when I was a little girl, can't remember how old, but I picked a mole off my arm because I didn't like it - but it came back bigger!!!
And more recently..... actually thought I had a spot that needing bursting (ugh, sorry for that image... lol) and kept picking it.... only realised this week, that it is where I used to have a mole!!
Again, nothing, so far, to worry about - but you have me worried now.........!!

Reply:True, picking mole or freckle could lead to skin cancer. This was told to me by my skin doctor.
Reply:I guess your other medical adviser is fully trained having one GCSE in woodwork? No this does not cause cancer.
Reply:well i have had likea wort on my leg for years i are always picking it off i told my doc i asked him the same thing as you are asking he said no it cant turn into cancer unless it is cancer to begin with
Reply:a mole is already cancer of the skin, but its not malignant (i.e benign - does not spread to other parts) .. now, this mole if it was exposed to long exposures of UV light from sun, or uncontrolled physical stress (i.e. picking it in your case), there is a chane it might become malignant ..
there is a good reason why you dont play with your moles, but then again it depends on the size of the mole and its shape .. generally any mole which is larger than 6mm in diameter is considered 'hazardous' and i wouldnt recomment you picking it, especially if it is unspherical and multicoloured !!!
Reply:True
