A few weeks ago, i tried the product mole vanish on my flat mole, which basically burned my skin and it made a little hole (but it did get rid of the mole). I used neosporin on it and right now it looks like the skin healed back but now it's a noticable pink color while im tanned. My question is is this normal? its been around three weeks. My skin didn't scab but it did bleed.
Healing skin?
the pink color is normal of fresh skin cells until they mature. Vitamin E oil works really well to speed up healing and reduce scarring. I wouldn't put any self-tanners or other non-healing products on it, this will slow down the healing process, and the growth of new skin cells. Be patient the cell growth process does take time, I've seen the use of vit. E oil work very well many times.
Reply:It sounds as though you have an open wound so the worst think you wanna do is sit in the sun without covering it. It will end up scarring, and could even get infected. Keep putting medicine on it and if it hasn't gotten better in a week or so, go have your doctor check it out. Good luck.
Reply:The sun wasn't the best idea for this new healing skin.
I'd continue to keep it very clean and apply neosporin and some pure vitamin e - if the area does not look better or appears worse in a few days do call your MD -
You can also clean it with peroxide to keep the bacteria at bay but be cautious a staph infection could happen -
Reply:That fresh new skin pink is normal.
Definitely use sunscreen when out in the sun. You may want to take instant tanner on a Q-tip and tan your new skin.
I didn't know there was a product to remove moles. It's cool to know it works!

Should I have raised moles removed for cosmetic reasons?
Assuming that skin cancer is not a concern, please factor the following points into your recommendation:
1) Out of pocket costs, since cosmetic procedures are not covered by insurance;
2) The person contemplating the mole removal is a heterosexual male who wishes to have an appearance that is appealing to females;
3) The risk of infections from such a procedure;
4) The risk that scars that look worse than the moles might form as a result of the procedure;
5) A relatively low threshold of pain;
6) The chances of finding a really good dermatologist who really knows how to perform this procedure well;
7) The length of time required for the skin to heal after the procedure;
8) The moles in question are all smaller in circumference than a pencil eraser, are raised up less than the thickness of two quarters, are not dark in color, and are present on the arms, legs, and face.
Should I have raised moles removed for cosmetic reasons?
Since it is for cosmetic reasons, it's really you're decision. I had mole removed from face because it kept getting infected, so maybe I can answer a few of you're questions.
3. I do have a scar on face from mole removal, it has become less obvious over time.
5. Shot gave to "numb" area for mole removal hurt a lot.
7. Didn't take long to heal
Oh and # 2 question, mole was on side of face, I always hated it. If it hadn't became infected, I had considered having it removed several times during life, even after I was married. Hope I helped a little, sorry I couldn't answer all you're questions.

Skin Cancer scare?
I recently had a mole removed which turned out to be skin cancer-basal cell carcinoma-which doesn't normally spread. However, I am very young to have this type of cancer at just 22 and it puts me more at risk from other types of skin cancers. I'm very moley and my other moles are displaying symptoms of melonoma-i'm going to the docs first thing on monday to get them checked out.
i'm so scared and feel all alone, my bf split up with me and few weeks ago which just adds to the stress of everything. i can't stop worrying about it, any advice?
Skin Cancer scare?
Sorry for your recent diagnosis. I think you are very lucky however because knowledge is power. You are now educated and know what to look for as well because they are found early that just makes your treatments and diagnosis's easier. I do agree the unknown is pretty scary. But if you do have more cancerous moles they can easily be removed. You need to relax, your nerves are just heightened because of your last scare. Most moles are not cancerous at all you are probably just being paranoid. I know easier said than done but this is what my friends tell me when I get all freaked out and they are usually right, it is over nothing. Don't worry unless you have something to worry about. You will be fine.
Reply:I also had a basal cell cancer removed at an early age (30). You definitely need to follow up with a dermatologist and have them follow you closely. They will do a thorough skin exam and based on what they see they'll be having you back at least 1/year.
Also, you should take your risk factors seriously and get proactive about you skin. You should be using sunscreen of %26gt; 15 with protection for both UVA and UVB (many don't cover both). Although the primary risk for melanoma is sunburns early in life, many people think that sun exposure now may activate abnormal melanocytes leading to melanoma.

Do you have a hard time looking at people with really bad skin?
A lady at work has the worst skin. Her face is full of huge moles, scars, red marks and scars. It looks like a war zone. I would like to send her to a plastic surgeon to help her. I am sure there must be something that could be done. I have a hard time looking at her and suspect other people do.
Why dont people have these super large moles removed and try to get her other skin rashes, etc looked at?
Do you have a hard time looking at people with really bad skin?
Some people really can't help it! It's not her fault her skin isn't the best looking, but maybe look past that and get to know her. She may be a great person if you give her a chance.
Reply:alot of ppl cant hlep it and most ppl cant afford to have surgery and wat not just to clear up there face..!!
Reply:I donn't know if her problem is curable or not, but I think this kind of people are very painful that nobody wants to look at them. Poor them!

Is there a natural way to remove freckles and/or Moles??
See, I'm not a redhead, I have blonde hair and really pale skin with lots of completely RANDOM freckles/moles, they are ugly, they come in all shapes, sizes, and colors... it's not the pretty freckles like pippylongstocking - I like hers they look like they belong but mine look really awkward. Anyone feel my pain or have any suggestions?
Is there a natural way to remove freckles and/or Moles??
you can try a peel like etre facial mineal peel. (all you do is rub it in and rub until it starts to blob like little buggers.lol. yeah nasty but i liked the way it left my face even after the 1st use. by the way you only use it once a week. im on week 2..i just bought it at the mall and they charged me $40 but i didnt know you could find it online for under $15!! i have the same problem with the frekles so im trying this. and i did get moles removed by a dermatologists. it isn't much and i can't say it left a scar.
Reply:freckles try fade cream. moles need cut out by the doctor. they need tested when removed.
Reply:Well from exsperiance ive had moles removed..but by a derm. Only costed $75.00 but they cut it out at the root so it wont come back. Doesnt hurt at all. HOWEVER it does leave a larger scar. To me i prefered the scar that was skin colored over the mole.
Reply:For freckles, I heard cut a lemon and rub on the freckles. It worked a little bit on my shoulders, but you can see them close up.
Moles, you'll have to see a doctor to see if they're non-cancerous and if they can be removed. Other than that, you're stuck with those.

How common is it to get melenoma in a mole after being on skin for 15 yrs?
It happens all the time. I have had moles since I was a child and have never been a sun worshiper or a tanner. I had two severe sunburns in my life...one at age 7 and one at 21. I had a malignant melanoma in at the age of 32 and many, many basal cells including a rare multi-focal basal cell carcinoma.
A melanoma can occur at anytime so always keep a close watch on any moles (freckles or red areas too) you have. The main signs of a problem are:
the mole is not symetrical (one side should match the other)
changes in color
changes in size
The easy thing to remember is the ABC's:
asymmetry
border
color
diamter
elevation
When in doubt, have the area checked. A melanoma caught early is very easy to treat and treat successfully. Never "sit" on a spot that you aren't sure of or "wait it out". See a doctor.

How can you humanely get rid of a mole (garden variety not skin)?
i've found that tabasco sauce drives them nuts. pour it in their hole and cover. they do come back, but not for awhile.
How can you humanely get rid of a mole (garden variety not skin)?
Don't know if you'll come back to this, but they will just dig around the tabasco, and pepper burns are not humane. Report It
Reply:12 Bore!
Reply:Keep cats, or get a terrier.
Reply:block the tunnels it might take a bit of time or days but they will give up if you persevere and you did ask humanely otherwise I could suggest a real remedy
Reply:When my yipping terrier starts digging, they exit the yard pretty darn quickly.
Reply:I have been told that you need to get rid of the grubs--their food supply. I know there are products for this but don't know if they work. I am in the process of trying a grub eliminator product myself. (These can be found at any garden supply store/department) Good luck
Reply:moles are quiet animals that they really hate continue sounds. this is the best solution (the humanity kind)
Dig MANY jam bottles in places that you think the mole is living there.
___ ......_____ like this. place the open part out of soil.
//////|.....|////////
//////|___|///////
the dots shows an empty place.
at night wind blows into it and make a sound like wistle.
cause of the sound, Moles leave there. I told u why. let the bottles stay in ur garden to dont have moles again!!!
Reply:I highly recommend one of the products containing caster bean oil. I have lots of moles and i don't mind them for the most part because they help control the japanese beetles, their favorite food is the grubs. The diluted oil is used to repel them from my flower gardens and pathways and as a barrier around the vegetables and herbs. It also helps to use some of the organic controls for Japanese beetle grubs since they attract the moles in the first place (milky spore is good). Ask at a garden center, hardware store, or local feed and seed.
I answered your q in a rush this morning and didn't stop to think about the years I've spent in the garden center and feed and seed business sorting out for customers the difference between moles and voles. Is it the shallow tunnels that are bothering you or the sudden root damage that plagues you? They are very different critters, but people confuse them all the time. They both tunnel underground and voles have been known to use mole tunnels to get where they want to go, adding to the identity problem. The castor bean oil works with both, but the grub control will not help with voles.
Reply:Sorry, I don't think it is possible. I have failed miserably for a long time. Wait patiently and they will move off on their own.
Reply:Try moth balls down the holes
