Irregular moles?

when should you be screened for skin cancer? im 25 and have 3 small irregualar moles on my lower thigh and i dont know wether or not to be concerned.

Irregular moles?
Follow the ABCDE guidelines for skin cancer:

Asymmetry: are both sides equal?

Border: are they even?

Color: is the color tone even or are there different tones?

Diameter: are they larger than the size of a pencil eraser?

Evolving: does it grow or change quickly?

These are the guidelines to go by, and even at your age, you can be the victim of skin cancer. Get checked now if you are even slightly at risk or fall into the categories above.

American Cancer Society is a good start

Good Luck
Reply:there is no certain age, but if you were exposed to a lot of sun when you were younger, it's a good idea to have a doctor take a look at them, so if they change at all, he will have a baseline to work with.
Reply:you can be screened for skin cancer at any age. When you were younger if you were exposed to a lot of sun moles appear on your skin. you should look at them everyday and if you notice them getting bigger then go see a doctor.
Reply:If you are concerned then it is time to get them checked out. Skin cancer is one of the deadliest forms of cancer. I just went to get some checked out and removed last month and it turns out they were not even moles but hemangiomas. They look exactly like moles but larger and uneven. They have no threat to cancer either. Your own family doctor can check them for you so what do you have to loose? At least you might get some peace of mind.

good luck
