Mole Removal - skin not animal?

Hey,

Ive tried finding information on whether certain moles can be dealt with in certain ways, ie cut out, shaved off, burnt off etc etc..

I have a raised brown mole a little smaller than an M%26amp;M just below my waist line that i want removed, but i really dont think i want it cut out. I want it removed purely for aesthetic reasons and Im pretty sure its not cancerous because ive had it since i can remember.

Its starting to really annoy me and its ugly as sin and i just want it gone!!

Anyone had similar removed?? How?.. Where?

thanks heaps!!

See your dermatologist. They will tell you what the best treatment is. I have had moles removed and they usually do it by freezing it with liquid nitrogen and eventually the mole falls off. However is a mole is possibly a cancerous lesion then a different treatment might be necessary and only your doctor is qualified to make that determination.
Reply:Best to see your Doc as most moles need to be tested for skin cancer cells nowadays.

Depending on the size he/she can numb it, slice it off and stitch up the surrounding area. Definately not a DIY project!
Reply:I've had a few moles removed. My dermatologist numbed my skin and sliced off the mole. It only took a few minutes. She just put a band-aid on it and it healed within a week. It's no big deal. The scar is minimal.
Reply:The only way is get it removed "cut-out" I have had them removed just for the way they look. I am glad I did.
Reply:Sometimes they can be frozen and will fall off. Based on your description, it is probably best to have a punch biopsy done on it (not only will that remove it, but it can be tested). Go to your derm.
Reply:it probably is harmless and moles are considered a beauty mark.

I think u should keep it and forget about it.
Reply:1)see your dermatologist or find a dermatologist

2)Make sure they don't just surface remove it

3)if it is raised it has a root and surface removal ie laser or surface cut(shaving) WILL MAKE IT COME BACK IN TIME

4)To permantely remove it you need to get it cut out FROM THE ROOT %26amp; yes this requires a stitch or two make sure you get stiches it is the only way to know it will never come back as the ROOT was removed %26amp; stiches also prevent scarring

5)does not hurt at all

6) takes 5 mins
